SLPE equipment

Purpose of the project:

Signal logical processing equipment SLPE-01 (hereinafter SLPE) is included into composition of engineered safety feature actuation system (hereinafter ESFAS) of Kalinin NPP power Unit 4.

SLPE is intended for:

  • receipt with galvanic separation of discrete signals characterizing the exceeding by process parameters of threshold setpoints values, as well as the state of electric equipment from three channels of process parameter protection equipment PPPE-01 (hereinafter PPPE);
  • logical processing of discrete signals in accordance with algorithms of generating the initiating signals for actuation of safety system (hereinafter SS);
  • logical processing of discrete signals in accordance with algorithms of generating the initiating signals for control of diesel generator (hereinafter DG) step-loading (hereinafter SL);
  • output of discrete initiating signals for SS actuation and control of SL to hardware of typical software-hardware means (hereinafter TPTS) for further processing and control;
  • provision of mode of permanent automatic monitoring of good condition of SLPE channel in the main mode of operation, starting from input circuits, ending at monitoring of output circuits;
  • provision of mode of periodic operability check (manual check of good condition) at shut-down and operating reactor;
  • acquisition and output to top level system of Unit (hereinafter TLS-U) of information from PPPE and SLPE.

SLPE consists of three data acquisition and processing devices DAPD-03.

Composition of DAPD-03 includes the following devices and units:

  • Indication unit BIC–03;
  • Processing unit BPM–04;
  • Processing unit BPM–05;
  • Supply unit BNN–02–01;
  • Communication device BVC-01;
  • Transceiver;
  • Box W502-FC-D-4MM-4MMC-62,5/125;
  • Data acquisition module.

DAPD-03 performs the following functions:

  • receipt with galvanic separation of discrete signals, characterizing the parameters exceeding the threshold setpoint values and the state of electric equipment from three channels of PPPE equipment;
  • logical processing of discrete signals in accordance with algorithms of generating the initiating signals for safety system actuation;
  • logical processing of discrete signals in accordance with algorithms of generating the initiating signals for control of DG SL;
  • generation of discrete initiating signals by every branch of SS actuation and SL control (a branch for SS actuation and SL control is a group of majority and logical circuits for processing of information on one or several parameters in accordance with ESFIP-2 algorithms);
  • output of discrete initiating signals for SS actuation and SL control in ESFAS-2 TPTS for the further logical processing and control;
  • generation of discrete signal CHECK at opening of any of DAPD doors;
  • check and monitoring modes:
    • automatic check of good condition of functioning of the equipment participating in generation of initiating signals;
    • periodic manual check of built-in devices;
  • presentation of the following information at the monitor if unit BIC-03:
    • on state of input and output discrete signals;
    • on equipment state (good condition and check);
  • output via Ethernet to the gateway (BVC-01) 1, 2 of DAPD-03 of the following information:
    • on state of input and output discrete signals;
    • on equipment state (good condition and check);
  • acquisition of information via Ethernet from devices PPPE DAPD-02 (BIC-02) and DAPD-03 (BIC-03);
  • transfer of information via fiber optic communication line from BVC-01 to TLS-U.

Processing unit BPM-04 ensures the following:

  • receipt with galvanic separation of discrete signals from three DAPD-02 of PPPE. Input module PVC-03 is intended for input of up to 48 discrete logical signals (three groups by 16 signals in each of them), for their logical processing in accordance with algorithm “2 out of 3” and output of 16 discrete signals, being the result of processing, to common information bus of the unit for the further processing in accordance with the assigned algorithms. The module ensures the input of discrete signals from devices with potential output (24 V, 10 mA) or of a “dry contact” type. Signals in each group may have both – group and individual galvanic separation. The supply of input signals is performed from DAPD-03;
  • generation and output to ESFIP TPTS of discrete initiating signals in accordance with ESFIP algorithms of SS actuation. Output module PVK-03 is intended for input of up to 96 discrete logical signals, their logical processing in accordance with the assigned algorithms, and for generation and output to external circuits of galvanically separated discrete signals, being the results of the processing, for the control and signaling goals. The module output signals are generated by switching over of electronic keys of type “open collector”  at output capacity of up to 50 mA at DC voltage of up to 200 V. PVK-03 ensures the generation of up to 48 discrete signals (3 groups by 16 signals in each). Signals in each group may have both – group and individual galvanic separation. The supply of these modules is performed from TPTS;
  • module PKK-05 for monitoring of the equipment functioning;
  • transfer of information on state of input and output signals to indication unit BIC-03;
  • receipt of discrete signal on the doors opening for output of DAPD-03 into “CHECK” mode, and output of signal “CHECK” with galvanic separation to unit BPM05;
  • automatic check of good condition with generation of good condition signal, and manual check of functioning from unit BIC-03 in the “CHECK” mode.

Processing unit BPM-05 ensures the following:

  • receipt of discrete signals with galvanic separation from three DAPD-02 of PPPE. Input module PVC-04 is intended for input of up to 48 discrete logical signals (three groups by 16 signals in each), for their logical processing in accordance with algorithm “2 out of 3”, and output of sixteen discrete signals, being the processing result, to common information bus of the unit for the further processing in accordance with the assigned algorithms. The module ensures the input of discrete signals from devices with potential output (24 V, 10 mA) or of a “dry contact” type. Signals in each group may have both – group and individual galvanic separation. The supply of input signals is performed from DAPD-03;
  • generation and output to ESFAS TPTS of discrete initiating signals in accordance with ESFIP SL algorithms. Output module PVK-04 is intended for input of up to 96 discrete logical signals, their logical processing in accordance with the assigned algorithms, and for generation and output to external circuits of galvanically separated discrete signals, being the results of the processing, for the control and signaling goals. The module output signals are generated by switching over of electronic keys of type “open collector” at output capacity of up to 50 mA at DC voltage of up to 200 V. PVK-04 ensures the generation of up to 48 discrete signals (3 groups by 16 signals in each). Signals in each group may have both – group and individual galvanic separation. The supply of these signals is performed from TPTS.
  • module PKK0501 for monitoring of the equipment functioning;
  • transfer of information on state of input and output signals to unit BIC–03;
  • receipt of discrete signal on the doors opening for output to DAPD-03 in the “CHECK” mode;
  • automatic check of good condition with generation of good condition signal, and manual check of functioning from unit BIC-03 in the “CHECK” mode.

Indication unit BIC–03 consists of work station WS-612GS/4525AP/T-R 19 with 10′′ color monitor with sensor screen and ensure the following:

  • receipt and transfer of information via insulated interface RS-485 from/to units BPM-04 and BPM-05;
  • output of information to the gateway of exchange unit BVC-01 via insulated interfaces Ethernet;
  • presentation at monitor of information on the state of equipment and discrete signals;
  • setting of the check modes.

Supply unit BNN–02–01 provides with low-voltage supply of + 24 V of the units from composition of DAPD-03, and performs the following:

  • conversion of voltage of AC mains of 220 V into insulated voltage of + 24 V DC, and it has up to four separate supply modules of type МАХ – 124;
  • filtration of the mains interferences;
  • information on availability of 220 V input;
  • switching on of every module via automatic switch, indication of switching on, and protection from the short-circuit and overvoltage.
